LANGHORNE, PA (Jan 5, 2004) -- Just sixteen minutes after being
sworn-in, new Middletown Supervisors Lisa Pflaumer & Jasper Caro joined with partner John J.
Kelly, Jr, to fire Middletown's 7-year engineer and hire the most-investigated
engineer in Bucks, S.J. (Bruce) Campbell of Unitech Engineers. Campbell,
who also operates a company named Middle Atlantic States from the same Langhorne
location, has been investigated by numerous townships and school
boards for suspicion of over-billing.
Supervisor Raymond Mongillo also voted on the appointment despite a glaring
conflict of interest. Mongillo co-owns a corporation with Campbell, which was
formed to recover gold, stolen from the Philippine government, and to smuggle it out of that country.
"Middletown Township is now for sale" remarked
Supervisor Robert McMonagle, who voted against Campbell's appointment. "Campbell
bought this appointment from the Kelly-Pflaumer-Caro campaigns for $5,300.00 - now he can get
his money back by over-charging the township."
The Kelly-Pflaumer-Caro corruption ring fired nearly every professional that worked
for the township, replacing them with campaign contributors.
